Practice Japanese out loud.
For learners who can read more than they can say.
Plenty of Japanese learners can read kana, recognize hundreds of kanji and follow an anime episode, then freeze the moment someone asks them a simple question. Recognition and speaking are separate skills, and most study apps only train the first.

A friendly buddy. Talk about whatever you want.
At the café
Order coffee and pastries. The barista chats with you.
Chatty neighbor
Small talk with a chatty neighbor in the elevator.
Job interview
Junior tech role. Formal register, practice the polite forms.
Asking directions
You're a tourist asking a busy local for directions.
Dinner with friends
Casual chat about weekend plans, gossip, what shows you're watching.
Why Japanese is hard to speak fluently.
Japanese puts the verb at the end, so you have to plan the whole sentence before you commit to it. You also pick a speech style every time you open your mouth: plain form with friends, です・ます with almost everyone else, keigo at work. Particles (は vs が, に vs で) have to come out right at speaking speed.
Glauda waits through the long pause while you assemble a verb-final sentence, and lets you switch between です・ます and casual speech in Open Chat. The café, directions and interview scenarios put you in situations where the polite forms actually matter, without a real person watching you get it wrong.
From A1 to C2. Your level, no cramming up.
Glauda speaks at the level you pick. The bot uses simpler vocabulary and shorter sentences at A1, and full native cadence at C2.

Common questions about practicing Japanese.
Does Glauda speak politely or casually?
Your choice in Open Chat: pick です・ます (the default) or casual plain form in the dashboard. Scripted scenarios set it for you: casual at dinner with friends, です・ます with a stranger asking directions, full keigo in the job interview.
Do I need to read kanji to use Glauda?
No. The conversation is spoken, so you practice listening and speaking without reading anything. Transcripts appear in normal Japanese script if you want to check a word afterwards.
I'm studying for the JLPT. How do levels map?
Each CEFR level shows its approximate JLPT equivalent in the picker (A1 ≈ N5, B1 ≈ N3, C1 ≈ N1). The JLPT itself has no speaking section, which is exactly why a lot of JLPT passers still struggle to talk. Glauda covers that gap.
Or pick a different language.
Same voice partner. Same patient turn-taking. Eleven other languages, ready when you are.
