Practice Mandarin out loud.
Tones and sentences, at your own pace.
Tones are the headline difficulty of Mandarin — but the actual barrier most learners hit is producing whole sentences in real time, with the right measure word and the right particle, while a native speaker waits.

Why Mandarin is hard to speak fluently.
Mandarin grammar is simpler than Indo-European languages, but its measure words, aspect markers (了, 过, 着), and topic-comment structure trip up speakers who learned it as 'Chinese SVO with extra steps.' Tones get harder, not easier, when the sentence gets longer.
Practice tones and sentence-building together, at your own pace. Glauda speaks at 1.0× by default; slow it to 0.7× while you're still mapping sounds to pinyin, then speed back up as your ear adjusts.
From A1 to C2 — your level, no cramming up.
Glauda speaks at the level you pick. The bot uses simpler vocabulary and shorter sentences at A1, and full native cadence at C2.

Common questions about practicing Mandarin.
Does Glauda use Simplified or Traditional characters?
Glauda is voice-only — the conversation is spoken, not written. Transcripts show pinyin alongside Simplified characters; Traditional is not currently supported.
Will Glauda check my tones?
Glauda hears your tones via the transcription model and responds as a native would (sometimes asking for clarification when a tone is wrong). It doesn't mark up tone errors — for that, pair Glauda with a dedicated pronunciation tool like a tone-checker app.
Can I see HSK level mapping?
Yes. Each CEFR level shows its HSK equivalent in the picker (A1 = HSK 1, B1 ≈ HSK 3-4, C1 ≈ HSK 6, C2 ≈ HSK 7-9). Pick whichever framework you think in.
Or pick a different language.
Same voice partner. Same patient turn-taking. Seven other languages, ready when you are.
